01

Scope and who we are

SM Digital provides career development, professional training, digital business services, events and related online services. This Privacy Policy explains how SM Digital ("we", "us" or "our") handles personal information when you visit smdigital.pk, submit a form, upload a document, enroll in a course, attend an event, request a visitor pass, verify a certificate, communicate with us or otherwise use our services.

By using our website or providing information to us, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. Where consent is required, we will ask for it at the relevant point.

02

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact information: name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, city, country, age range and CNIC or other identification details where reasonably required for registration, access or verification.
  • Career and learning information: CVs, work history, education, skills, target roles, preferred markets, course interests, attendance, assessments, feedback, internship details and certificate records.
  • Business service information: company details, project briefs, brand assets, website content, account access supplied for an agreed project and communications about your work.
  • Files and media: documents, profile photographs, payment evidence, application files and other materials you choose to upload or send.
  • Transaction information: service or course purchased, amount, date and payment status. Card or banking credentials are handled by the relevant payment provider and are not intentionally stored by us.
  • Technical and usage information: IP address, browser, device, operating system, approximate location, referring page, pages visited, interaction events, dates and times, cookie identifiers and similar diagnostic information.
  • Communications: messages, call notes, support requests, preferences and responses sent through email, WhatsApp, social media or website forms.

03

How we use information

We use personal information only for legitimate operational, service and legal purposes, including to:

  • respond to enquiries and deliver requested courses, evaluations, internships, events, certificates and business services;
  • review CVs and applications, prepare evaluation reports, manage enrollment and communicate service updates;
  • verify identity, visitor access, attendance, payments and certificate authenticity;
  • operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve our website and internal systems;
  • measure website and campaign performance and understand which services are useful to visitors;
  • send relevant service messages and, where permitted, marketing communications that you can opt out of;
  • prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents and violations of our terms; and
  • comply with applicable law, lawful requests and recordkeeping obligations.

04

CVs, identity details and uploaded files

CVs and supporting files may contain detailed personal information. We use them to provide the service you requested, such as a CV Evaluation Report, internship review, enrollment decision or career consultation. Access is limited to team members and service providers who need the information for that purpose.

Please do not include passwords, banking credentials, medical records or unrelated sensitive information in an upload. Where a CNIC or photograph is requested, it is used only for the stated registration, access, identification or verification purpose unless you separately agree otherwise.

05

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website may use essential browser storage, cookies, analytics tools and advertising technologies. These tools can remember settings, keep forms and features working, measure visits and help us understand campaign performance.

We use the Meta Pixel to record events such as page visits, viewing the Free CV Evaluation Report page and successful lead submissions. Meta may process device, browser, IP address and interaction information under its own terms and privacy practices. You can limit cookies through your browser settings and adjust advertising preferences through the relevant platform. Blocking some technologies may affect website features.

06

When we share information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share only what is reasonably necessary with:

  • hosting, database, file storage, email, messaging, analytics, advertising, payment and technical support providers;
  • trainers, evaluators, event partners or delivery partners involved in the service you requested;
  • professional advisers, auditors, insurers or authorities where required to protect rights, investigate misuse or comply with law; and
  • a successor organisation if all or part of SM Digital is reorganised, merged or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality measures.

Third parties process information under their own terms or our instructions, depending on their role. We do not authorise service providers to use information for unrelated purposes.

07

International processing

Some technology providers may store or process information outside Pakistan. Where this occurs, we select established providers and take reasonable steps to use contractual, technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information and service.

08

How long we keep information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to deliver the service, maintain academic or certificate records, administer an active relationship, meet accounting or legal requirements, resolve disputes and protect our rights. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we may securely delete, anonymise or archive it with restricted access.

09

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or disclosure. These may include access controls, secure hosting, restricted permissions and backups. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10

Children and younger learners

Some training programmes may be suitable for participants under 18. A parent or legal guardian should review the programme and provide information or consent where required. We do not knowingly use a child’s information for targeted marketing. A guardian may contact us to ask about, correct or delete a younger learner’s information, subject to records we must keep.

11

Your choices and requests

Subject to applicable law and legitimate recordkeeping needs, you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we hold personal information about you;
  • provide access to, correct or update that information;
  • delete information that is no longer needed;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; or
  • stop promotional messages by using the unsubscribe option or contacting us.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We may retain limited records where required for legal, security, payment or certificate verification purposes.

12

Third-party websites and services

Our website may link to social networks, messaging services, maps, payment providers and other websites. Their privacy practices are controlled by them, not SM Digital. Review their policies before providing information through those services.

13

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The revised version will appear on this page with a new “Last updated” date. For a privacy request or concern, email [email protected] and use the subject “Privacy Request”.
